Nick Williams successor appointed

Welcome Tim Cowley – Head Professional

We are pleased to announce that we will be welcoming Tim Cowley to St Enodoc in June 2026 as our new Head Professional to succeed Nick Williams and who will retire in October 2026.

Tim has spent the last 12 years as Head Professional at Royal Ashdown Forest, having been appointed at just 24. He has successfully run his shop, developed a strong teaching reputation, and built excellent relationships with Members and visitors alike. Some St Enodoc Members may already know Tim having visited Royal Ashdown Forest.

After meeting Tim several times throughout the recruitment process, it was clear he has a calm, Member-first approach, excellent communication skills, and a real appreciation for Clubs with strong tradition and character. He impressed us greatly with the energy he possesses and his proven track record of successfully running a retail operation of a similar size to our own.

Throughout this process, we have been committed to ensuring that this appointment strengthens what Members already value about St Enodoc. Tim’s arrival does not change how decisions are made in the Club, nor does it alter the traditions and culture of the organisation. Furthermore, following extensive Member feedback, Tim will be joining the Club as Head Professional.

We will continue to be very careful to preserve everything that makes St Enodoc the Club it is today, while making practical improvements that many Members have asked for over several years.

We are excited about this next chapter and confident that Tim will be a strong addition to the Club’s professional team. At the same time, we hope Nick enjoys a rewarding and well-deserved final year before his retirement.
