Waking up to a hard frost made the first three hours of the morning slightly stressful. Taking the 3rd and 6th holes out of play to protect the two greens and delaying the start until 1045 meant the 140+ players were able to go out and play both courses in the Turkey Trot.
A unique format of foursomes betterball off the yellow, red and tinsel tees with two teams per tee might have had the players questioning my sanity but it seemed to work and the pace of play was faster than expected.
Thanks to Andy Golding who kindly accompanied me in the buggy laden with sausage rolls, mulled wine and coffee. A welcome warmer for the cold players.
Back inside for chatter, lunch and some light entertainment by David Barnes and his brass band made the whole day thoroughly enjoyable and the clubhouse rather full! Thank you to all the fantastic staff both on and off the course for enabling us to have such a wonderful day.
