Sunday 6th April – Team Trophy Competition
On a still, sunny Sunday morning the first ever St Enodoc Team Trophy was played. 7 of the Club teams played Greensomes for holes 1-9 and Betterball for holes 10-18 in the battle royale!
The seven teams were: Gammon, Lady Captain’s, Farmers, Seniors, CTC/Wills, Presidents Trophy & General Managers side. The General Manager had been accused heavily of poaching players by the Club Vice-Captain and President’s Trophy Captain Mike Roach!
Congratulations to the Ladies’ Gammon side who won the first edition of the competition with 171. The team were each awarded a bottle of champagne and will have a photo framed in the Clubhouse until next year’s event. An honourable mention for the CTC & Wills team who were presented with a wooden spoon following a poor performance. It was suggested next year the side would be allowed to play from the Silver Tees with a few bonus shots to make them competitive!
Thank you to everyone who participated in what was a great Club day at the start of the golfing season. Rest assured, the General Manager’s team will come back fighting next year !
