In the end the weather was kinder than forecasted to the 40 players that made up the two teams playing in this years annual Cornwall+ vs ROW match.

Although the rain stayed away the wind was gusting at over 35mph and playing conditions were still challenging.

In the lead match the Cornish team got off to a great start with a 10 point to 8 victory. At the half way stage Cornwall had won two matches, ROW had won two and one match was halved.  The overall match score couldn’t have been closer with scoring level at 45 – 45.  The next 4 matches saw 2 victories a piece but now ROW were leading by 3 points 82.5 to 79.5 with only the final match to come in. Incredibly the Cornish duo of Mike and Nigel Buse beat the ROW pairing of Julian Darnell and Mark Pimble by the required 3 points to secure a 90 – 90 point draw.

The match was played in excellent spirit with much hilarity and witty banter exchanged between the teams during the after-match meal and continued in the bar into the evening.
