Maxam 2025 Report
On Sunday 1st June, our Maxam Cup team travelled to a well-presented St Austell Golf Club.
The team featured three debutants – Kai Dingle, Bobby Godfrey, and Alfie Chapman – all making their first appearances for both the Maxam and the Scratch team. They were joined by Steve Chapman, George Tunbridge, and Lewis Bradley.
Leading the way for St Enodoc were Steve Chapman (celebrating his birthday) and George Tunbridge, who returned a morning round of 75. A special mention to County Secretary Chris Pountney, who marked the occasion by presenting Steve with a birthday badge on the 1st tee!
Next out, debutants Kai and Bobby posted a solid 77, giving us a morning team total of 152 and placing St Enodoc in fourth position at the halfway stage.
The afternoon rounds saw consistency from Steve and George, who again carded a 75. Alfie and Lewis followed with a 77, bringing our overall team total to 304 – securing a strong fourth-place finish.
Steve and George’s combined score of 150 placed them in a tie for 5th overall, narrowly missing out on the podium.
A big shoutout goes to our three young debutants – with a combined age of just 48 (only slightly more than Steve on his own!) – who all made valuable contributions. Their performances helped deliver the club’s best finish in the Maxam Cup for six years and showcased a very bright future for St Enodoc.
