Derek Kingsbury turns 100

It is not every day that we celebrate a member turning 100.
Today, St Enodoc came together to celebrate a remarkable milestone for our much-loved member, Derek Kingsbury.
A special competition was held on the Holywell Course, a course Derek knows so well, followed by a wonderful celebration with fellow members, friends and the wider St Enodoc community.
On a beautiful summer’s day, it was a fitting tribute to a century of memories, friendships and a lifetime connected with golf.
Derek was joined for the celebrations by our youngest member, Louis, aged 6. Which was a wonderful reminder of how golf continues to bring together generations.
When Derek was born in 1926, Bobby Jones and Walter Hagen were among the names making history in the major championships. Fast forward to the year Louis was born in 2019, and the major winners included Tiger Woods, Gary Woodland, Brooks Koepka and Shane Lowry.
Different generations, different eras, but the same love for the game.
Happy 100th birthday, Derek. Thank you for being such an important part of the St Enodoc story.
