St. Enodoc Golf Club - What Katie did next

What Katie did next

Such is Katie Rule\'s current busy schedule that keeping up with her travels and results is none too easy. That said here is a resume of some of her recent competitions. Both she and Antony Nash are certainly spreading the name of St Enodoc around the country.

Friday 26th July was the Truro Pro Am, and Katie was the only lady golf pro playing. She went round in 68 and came 5th in the Pro\'s individual, only one Cornwall Pro scored better Richard Sadler a 66.

From Truro Katie went to Kingsbarn Links at St Andrews, for the last qualifying stage of The Womens British Open. Katie got off to a flying start and was 2 under par after 6 holes, which included 2 putts of 10 foot missed, but with one wayward drive and a 3 putt, Katie was 2 over with 6 holes to go. She knew she had to make at least 3 birdies to get in but going for too many shots became costly and she finished with a 6 over par 78, (twelve players on 3 under played off for 3 places).

On the way back from Scotland, Katie played in the South West of England assistants championships at Cotswold Hills GC. This was the same event in which Antony Nash finished 3rd. Katie had no time to see or walk the course before, and due to over hitting the fairway on the 6th into trees, she finished the hole with an 8 and was now 7 over the mens par, but in true Katie fashion, she played the remaining holes in 4 under par, and scored a 75. (Men\'s par 72, Ladiies par 75) The second round included an eagle and 2 birdies for a 74, Katie came joint 10 and was the best of the other Lady Pros playing.

Yesterday - 2nd August - Katie scored a 73 at Tehidy in their Pro Am. Again she did it the hard way by starting with a double bogey, and was 4 over par after only 4 holes, but went on to finish under par on the back nine. Her score of 73 was 2 over the men\'s par and level to the ladies, she finished 12th in a field of 35 Pros, and again was the only Lady Pro playing.

Next week Katie and Antony Nash play in the prestigious Powerade National Assistants Championship, at Coventry GC, an event for which they both qualified earlier this year with at Honiton GC
