Another glorious day greeted those entered into the Vicountess Clifden, a stableford foursomes competition. The trophy which consists of a cigarette box and glass perfume bottle were first played for in 1906 and were subsequently “mislaid” for many years.
The Captain had an early problem on the course, reaching the 1st green he looked down and realised that he had not changed his shoes, thank you Chris for arranging transportation out to the 2nd green of a suitable pair of golf shoes, £5 fine for the Charity bottle.
Everyone appeared to have thoroughly enjoyed their golf with many tales of what might have been, but in the end the prizes were as follows.
1st Celia Jarvis and Richard Norsworthy. 39 points
2nd Annie and Bob Cruse 37 points
3rd Lynn Ashcroft and Andy Farrant. 36 points
4th Carole and Chris Waights. 32 points.
Thank you all those that entered.
Charles Rayment - Club Captain.
