The traditional festive season Tom Noggi Match took place yesterday, 28th December, between the Secretary\'s team (For many years the day to day Administration of the Club was undertaken by the Secretary, that title has now changed to General Manager but the match remains Secretary vs Club Pro) and that of the Club Professional. With seventeen pairs a side this was a considerable turn out with the first tee time at 0930 and the last at 1210. Some players were still at home breakfasting when the two Captains\' got the match underway in a very fresh breeze and squally rain showers. The format of 4BBB produced some close matches and some others not so close; however this years match was never a close run thing and Nick Williams team had to concede victory to Tuck Clagett at an early stage. As is traditional the match was followed by a dinner at which the loosing team were obliged to pay for the wine consumed during the meal. Equally traditionally Nick Williams uses the event to raise money for the Captain\'s Charity and many fines were dished out during the course of the evening for mis-demeanours both real and imagined.
The Club Captain took advantage of the occasion to honour the winner of this years Order of Merit - the ever consistent Richard Hawken - pictured below with John Baxter.
