The Club Captain decided to shake things up a little and change the format of the Rowe Cup by making it a 'Medford'! The first round was a medal on the Church Course and the second round a Stableford on the Holywell that could be played all in one day or over two days. The idea being that the Stableford score is subtracted from the nett medal score meaning the lowest nett score wins!
With a number of County competition fixtures over the weekend the turn out was lower than usual, but with nineteen entries there was still some good golf played with some very low scores. The winner of the Rowe Cup was Matt Warr who had the lowest nett score of 67 and the highest stableford score of 43 points giving him a nett 24. The runner up was the Club Captain himself with both the second lowest nett of 68 and the second highest Stableford of 41 points giving a nett score of 27. Both Matt and Bob had a considerable lead on the the rest of the field with the closest being Paul Clemens with nett 33.
This Saturday's competition is the start of the John Cory Cup Series.
