This Saturday’s competition was a non-qualifying Sweep Stableford, a pressure free competition for the 72 players who entered. Saturday was another fine and sunny Autumn Day, but the wind was tough, blowing a stiff South-westerly straight into the face on the last 6 holes.
The Greenkeepers’ week of maintenance to the course meant the greens had been hollow-tined but they were in remarkably good shape.
Top of the pile this week was Will Rich with 35 points, he was closely followed by 6 players all on 34 points. On countback Rob Cook came in 2nd and Steve Cock 3rd.
In 4th place was John Radford and then Keith Hawke in 5th. Also on 34 points Nigel Buse was 6th and John Rowe 7th. Josh Greenaway and Paul Honey returned 33 points to take 8th and 9th position and Ripker De Boer and Roger Tremain claimed 10th and 11th on 32 points. The prizes went to 12 places with Nick Shelley creeping in on countback with 31 points to take 12th place.
