Saturday was a glorious day for golf, enjoyed by the 55 members who entered the Stableford Bisque. In a Bisque each player plays off his full handicap but can choose to take the shots on any hole. He can take up to 2 shots on any hole. There are various tactics to employ but you still need to play good golf to score points!
Joe Tamblyn had an incredible 43 points on Saturday to take first prize. Joe played his card as normal, his 17 handicap giving him a shot on all but the 15th hole. After blobbing the 2nd and bogeying the 3rd Joe turned his fortunes around with a 2 on the 4th scoring him 5 points and a run of net birdies.
Andy Bunt came in 2nd with 36 points. Andy saved one of his 5 shots for the 18th to nett his fourth bogey but played well throughout, scoring 19 points on the front 9 and 17 on his way in. Malcolm Knight is still on form after his blinder at Saunton and scored 35 points this Saturday to take 3rd place on countback from Greg Mather who had to settle for 4th. Nick Shelley took 5th place with 33 points ahead of a gaggle of golfers (is that the plural for golfers?) who finished on 32 points. Ryan Perring came in 6th, Malcolm Mullis 7th, Kevin Birkett was 8th, Matthew Warr 9th and Paul Dingle 10th.
