On a day of some very welcome sunshine and light breezes our St Valentines amoreuses set out on the Church and Holywell courses in the popular annual St Valentines Mixed Greensomes competition. Some even left their farms and bleating lambs for the afternoon.
St Valentines Day is of course an occasion for the re-affirmation of love between couples, an exchange of cards and gifts from the male to the female of the species. Gifts are often, indeed normally, of the romantic order eg bouquets of flowers, boxes of chocolates etc. Others incline to the more practical and one Member, past lecturer in brickwork and such, decided that a pair of new golf trolley wheels would be the ideal aphrodisiac for his sugar decorating expert wife. Were they wrapped in pink ? Were they painted pink ? No just bog standard Powacaddy wheels - oh well such is love.
