Organised this year for the first time by Charles Rayment some forty odd St Enodoc Seniors yesterday made the annual pilgrimage to Lanhydrock GC for their ever popular Seniors Open. Won by Derek Rushton in 2013, David Barber in 2015 and Martin Wilson in 2016 it is no wonder our Seniors return each year in droves.
Lanhydrock GC in summer is always a pleasure and one of the very best parkland courses in the County. Yesterday it was immaculate, trimmed and neat everywhere. The greens were perfect and rolling true. Historically our Seniors have, over the years, had a good degree of success at this event winning it a number of times. Add then to this roll of honour the name of Stuart Morley who returned a winning total of 39 points to win by one shot - well played and congratulations Stuart.
In 5th place with a score of 36 points was Mike Kent and 2nd in the Super Seniors category was Bill Gowans with 35 points. Well played both of you. Of the nine winners in the "2's" club were also four St Enodoc Seniors.
