On 30 and 31 August 36 junior golfers from across the county took part in an annual two day Stableford event playing two courses on separate days, Carlyon Bay on first day and St Austell on second day. This is the fifth year this event has run and it is a great environment for the juniors to meet up with and to test their game with other juniors in the county, we had two representatives Shannon Ashcroft and Jake Sanders.
On day one Shannon took 2nd prize in the girls division with 39 points, cutting her handicap from 18 to 17, whilst Jake placed himself 5th in the boys division with 33 points. On day two at St Austell with the playing order altered to reflect the previous days rounds, Shannon finished up with 28 points for the day placing her 3rd overall for the two days and Jake finished with 35 points placing him 3rd overall for the two days too. Shannon also won longest drive for the girls on day two. With such a small representation from St Enodoc taking away two of the main prizes was quite an accomplishment. The two days were rounded off with a barbecue and prizegiving at St Austell. Well done Shannon and Jake.
