The sun shines on the righteous, or so they say, but we can certainly atest to that for the 2019 Junior Open. Unlike last year where the event had to be cancelled there wasn't a rain cloud in sight, but just so it wasn't too easy the wind decided to hang around and make it interesting. Twenty Six entries from inside and outside the county, even as far away as Switzerland took part in the medal competition on The Church Course. It would seem that the competitors were more than able to withstand the challenge.
In the prize giving for the Junior Open it is customary for the prize winners to win one prize only in order to recognise as many people's achievements on the day as possible. As echoed by the St Enodoc Head Professional Nick Williams ' there was some fantastic golf played in difficult conditions and you all made it round!'. Nick was ably assisted in the presentation by committee member and ardent supporter of the Junior Section Mr Norman Evans.
The Junior Open 2019 winner Joshua Millington was obviously delighted and congratulated and thanked everyone for the day and we can only imagine how proud his parents were as his brother Ashley came close behind with a very respectable third place too.
Well done everyone and we look forward to the St Enodoc Junior Open 2020.
