St. Enodoc Golf Club - Spectacular Sunshine for the Spring Meeting.

Spectacular Sunshine for the Spring Meeting.

The Spring Meeting was held on Tuesday 15th April in bright sunshine although scoring was quite tricky due to the breezy conditions.

The competitions were well supported on both courses and players were organised into teams of three, counting the best two scores on each hole. The competition on the Church Course was won comfortably by the team of Sue G Jones, Sue Kingston and Chris Henderson with a total of 68 points from Sarah Sandercock, Pru Cuming and Di Dingle in second place with 65 points.  Sue Ofield, Penny Moon and Cath Buscombe took third place with 64 points and fourth place was filled by the team of Meg Godfrey, Lorna Harper and Suzie Hoddell with a total of 62 points.

Sue Ofield won “nearest the pin” which was on the 5th hole and Meg Godfrey unleashed the longest drive down the 2nd fairway.

There were clear winners on the Holywell Course as the team of Jackie Fisher, Ann Crossley and Di Keates compiled a winning score of 78 points. In second place with a total of 76 points were Anne Worden, Brenda Sandry and Judy Redman just one ahead of Rose Jones, Sue Moore and Jaye Guest who finished in third place with 75 points.

Wendy Reskelly won “nearest the pin” which was on the 18th hole and Mary Bower had the most powerful and accurate drive of the day on the 8th hole.

The prize table boasted a wonderful array of vivid flowers and plants and as players came off the course they enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea of sandwiches and cakes.

Winning team member, Sue Kingston thanked all those involved in organising a most successful and enjoyable day.
