A field of 49 players entered the Sir Cecil Carr 4-Club Competition on Saturday. The Competition is a stapleford played with just 4 clubs. One club must be a putter but the rest are the player’s choice. Of course there is much debate before hand over which clubs would serve best, and most probably there were some clubs sorely missed by those not having such a good day on the Course!
Charles Rayment certainly did not need his other 10 clubs as he continued his recent form to take 1st place and the Sir Cecil Carr Trophy. Charles had 35 points and just beat Paul Honey to the top spot on countback. Paul came in second followed by James Stoddard in 3rd, Keith Thompson in 4th, Keith Searle in 5th and Tris Lang in 6th place, all with 32 points. Mike Buse and Rob Cook sneak into the prizes in 7th and 8th, each with 31 points.
All the clubs need to go back in to the bag for next weekend’s Parr competition; The Rowe Cup.
