47 members got wet playing in the Sir Cecil Carr 4 Club Competition on Saturday. Each player chooses 3 clubs and a putter before teeing off the first, playing the whole round using just those 4 clubs. As with most years, the scores did not suffer with just 4 clubs and as Niblick witnessed, Lewis Bradley holed an eagle straight off the first tee!
The winner of The Sir Cecil Carr 4 Club for 2017 was Mark Luxton with 36 points. Mark had birdies on the 4th and 7th and finished the front nine with 22 points. In 2nd and 3rd place Andy Griffiths and Dennis Brown were separated by countback with 33 points each, while Richard Lawrence, Bob Cruse and Martin Biddle all score 32 points to take 4th, 5th and 6th respectively. Ian Day scored 31 points in 7th place and Josh Greenaway took 8th place on countback with 30 points.
