The Spring Men\'s Foursomes Knockout, the Tudor Edwards Cup, had a piece of giant killing in the final rarely seen at St Enodoc for our two young County guns Antony Nash and Joe Cruse were beaten by Geoff Jones and Norman Hawkey.
To reach the final Nash and Cruse had beaten the representatives of the Bodmin teachers Derek Rushton and Nigel Thomas and Jones and Hawkey had got the better of father and son Mark and Sam Jarvis. All would not be plain sailing for the young blades as past Captain Geoff and Norman were receiving a massive 17 shots; this became very obvious very quickly for despite birdieing the First they lost the hole!
At the end of the day the glazier and the sheep farmer held their nerve and won the match 4 & 2. Well done the old boys and it proves that the handicapping system can produce great matches between unlikely opponents and hopefully it will sharpen the boys for the County Championships here at St Enodoc this coming week.
