The Seniors entertained Truro Seniors on the links on Monday, 17 March and recorded another win 5 – 3. So after only two matches – the shoulders are back, the stride is purposeful, the jaw is set firmly and the demeanour is confident and manly … after all the old boys have a 100% success rate ! However, history suggests that tomorrow is also another day !
The Truronians have always been a very sociable bunch and the match was played in the usual convivial spirit as old golfing friendships were renewed. That several conversations continued long after the post-match dinner was further evidence of that.
Captain of the Day, Ken Metcalfe gave the usual reminder that this was a Seniors’ match after all, as the ubiquitous leaking memory resulted in his forgetting to take out the ball markers for the NTP competition. However, years of experience and Seniors’ initiative galloped to the rescue with a Heath Robinson alternative.
The gathering also sent their good wishes to the Truro Seniors’ captain, Norman Pritchard who is hospital having recently suffered a stroke.
