Monday 17th May
Eager to erase a recent defeat from their memories - not difficult - the Old Saints assembled at The Point with renewed vigour. The elements were not favourable but as the day progressed the weather improved and as usual - “it never rains on a Monday”! The course was in immaculate condition and it was a real pleasure to play from those carpet-like fairways. It is no surprise that The Point was chosen to host the recent Cornish Festival.
As for the match, the top match of Earle and Hawke resulted in a heavy defeat but thankfully others were more resilient. Wins an losses began alternating and we eventually ended up with honours even.
C. Earle and K. Hawke lost 6/5
