For reasons not immediately apparent, but possibly related to incompetence, the July Seniors Stableford on the Holywell has hitherto gone unreported. It is with real pleasure therefore that this missive confirms the well-known adage that 'a good old-un will always beat a good young-un'. In first place with a splendid 39 points was David Shapland followed by Ian McLellan on 36 points and Roy Darnell with 33. For the statistically minded their combined age was considerably greater than twice their combined score, but it would clearly be inappropriate to divulge the actual figures.
The Junior Seniors had a match away against Lanhydrock which they lost 5 – 3, but they hope to achieve an overall win after the return match at home in October.
