Friday June 1st was a glorious sunny day with a gentle breeze and perfect for playing golf on the Church course, which the Seniors were lucky enough to enjoy in their match against China Fleet. Led in inimitable style by the formidable Paul Godfrey, our Captain of the Day, the Section's good form continued with a 5 ½ – 2 ½ win. The return match is in a couple of weeks time.
Yet again the Seniors were favoured by glorious weather, this time for their monthly Stableford on the Church course, which produced a commendably high turnout of twenty-three members, given that it took place on a Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday. Scoring was perhaps less good than one might have expected, possibly because much time was spent extricating balls from the notorious St. Enodoc summer rough. Three players tied on 34 points with John Bower prevailing on the last nine count-back from Frank Harper and Nigel Thomas.
