The Seniors continued their good run in Club matches earning a 4 – 4 draw away at Perranporth in a hard-fought and spirited contest. There was some good golf, and much banter, from both sides, each of which has the good fortune to play on a home course designed by James Braid, and the combined, Home & Away, result after a lovely day was 10 – 6 in favour of St. Enodoc.
Earlier in the month the Church Stableford produced a victory and a handicap cut for Nigel Thomas on 36 points with Jim Crouch second on count-back on 32 from Dick Leivers and Derek Kingsbury.
On the Holywell the Stableford was won by David Miller on 31 points with Roy Darnell second on count-back with 30 from Ian Hall and John Godwin.
The results of the Seniors Stableford on the Holywell yesterday - 28th May - were
1. Roy Darnell 39pts
2. David Girling 35pts
3. David Miller 33pts (CB)
Played in nice golfing conditions the scores were not as scintillating as they could have been. The pace was very slow at times; it would help if players would pick up once they can\'t score.
