On Friday 29th September and under blue skies with a generous helping of wind the Seniors played the return fixture against Lanhydrock Seniors. Despite the presence of trees, the first match had ended with a narrow victory for St.Enodoc . This, however, had only strengthened the resolve of Lanhydrock to reverse the result. Indeed that resolve looked like producing a successful revenge during the early proceedings as the first five narrowly contested matches produced a 2 and half each scoreline.
Watching from the clubhouse both captains were optimistic, but St. Enodoc’s last pairings ‘delivered’ three points and the victory was ours.
The visiting Captain was generous in his praise for the course, food and general hospitality. The overall aggregate meant St Enodoc won 10 – 6. The afternoon concluded with Stewart Bradley receiving the nearest pin for Lanhydrock, and John Westlake completing a rare double by winning the nearest the pin for St Enodoc, having won the prize at Lanhydrock in the away fixture.
