There was a Met Office weather warning for high winds gusting above 50mph at Perranporth. The first challenge facing the seniors team was to reach the club house from the car
park. Mutterings of “unplayable, lets call it a half “ were not easily forgotten as the team set off to battle the elements. However, once players found their feet and got used to being pushed around by the blast, an enjoyable afternoon followed as conditions began to ease slightly. There was a strong start, a little hiatus, further wins and then a bit of a slide as the score went to 4-3. But the final pair of Keith Hawke and Colin Earle (Colin kindly stood in with an hour’s notice) came in with a magnificent half to secure the day 4.5-3.5.
Our thanks went to Perranporth for hosting a fun day of sporting endeavor in their usual relaxed style.
