Monday 12th June started as the first nice sunny day for a long time. The Old Saints travelled towards Devon, but stopped just short of the border at Saltash, saving £1.50, to play the return match against China Fleet.
It was nice to see old friends again, and their course was in wonderful condition. A great shame it couldn’t be said that our team was in the same state. However, everyone had a lovely day and the meal afterwards was excellent along with the company. Steve Smith somehow won nearest the pin, just sneaking inside his Captain, (he won’t be picked again). All told, a great day was had by all, despite the result which was 6 & 2 to China Fleet, but the combined score saw the Old Saints triumph by 1/2 a point.
