The Seniors travelled to Carlyon Bay on Friday 11 October for the return fixture following the earlier draw at home. In conditions which were a welcome reminder of summer and on a course which was tailored to perfection, the Seniors went down in a close tussle by 4½ - 3½. In a couple of matches, they were challenged by some wonderful golf played by the hosts. As always, this was a match-play format, however, when translated into Stableford better-ball scores , one home pair scored 42 points, whilst another no less than 46 points. Such golf takes some beating at any time, but especially when one visitor chipped a ball onto the passing Paddington-Penzance express and another disturbed a naturist enjoying the late sun on the beach below !
