Paul Broadhurst, having equalled the course record at St Enodoc on Wednesday, crushed the challenge of fellow Ryder Cup player Phillip Price with another superb display in the sunshine to win the PGA SWest Cornish Festival by seven clear shots yesterday. He trailed Price by two going into the final day but the Welshman failed to master the crosswinds at St Enodoc and signed for two-over-par 71. Broadhurst, meanwhile, was relishing the benign Trevose links. His seven-under 64 included two eagles at the par five ninth and the par four 15th when he holed a 60-yard wedge for the second successive day.
Somewhat lower down the field our two Pro's and their teams, whilst no doubt enjoying themselves, did not trouble the leaders in either the individual or team events. Suffice to say that Nick beat Antony in the individual stroke play whilst the team scores were tied on 226 points each and which left them in 41st place overall.
