Saturday 7th September saw 28 pairs competing for the Rex Machin Salver. With the pairs combined handicaps being halved and playing a Foursomes format posting a good score was a difficult challenge.
Things were tight at the top with only 1 point separating the top three with Norman Evans managing to go one better than last year’s Second Place to finish on top of the leaderboard alongside his partner Richard Blake. Together they posted a score of 37 points with a very good back nine of 19 points which secured the win after count-back with Robbie Moore and Steve Cock being the unlucky pairing coming up just short with a back nine of 18 points.
Mark Westlake and Kevin Cornford finished a point further adrift in Third Place with a score of 36 points.
