On the first Sunday in April a EWGA Medal was played with only 2 players entering. Kath Biddle was the winner with a nett 80. This was followed by another EWGA Medal on the Tuesday when Di Dingle came out on top with a nett 77 followed by Sue Floyd Jones with Nett 79 and Edna Alford on Nett 81. On the Holywell Course there were some very good Medal scores with Cath Buscombe and Rita Bentley both having a Nett 58. This resulted in Cath winning the competition on countback and cutting her handicap by 2 to 27 while Rita reduced hers by 2 to 25. In third place was Dot Frewin with Nett 59 also reducing her handicap by 2 to 24.
The Spring Meeting was held in some pleasant sunny conditions but only after 2 hard hail showers made us wonder if we were being ambitious to mention the word \'Spring\'! Our Ladies Captain came up with an unusual format which involved the teams of three ladies using one score on the Par 5s, 2 scores on the Par 4s and all 3 on the Par 3s. Interesting!! However, this proved successful for some teams with Penny Cartwright, Sue Foster and Janine Clagett soming in with 76 Points on the Church Course to win from Jenny Justice, Viv Seer and Rhiannon Rich with 75 Points. In third place with 71 Points were Ruth East, Annie Cruse and Sue Richards. In fourth and fifth places were Fiona Womersley, Ellie Elliot and Jane Pain ahead of Di Dingle, Jax Buse and Gill Goodright.
On the Holywell Course the scores almost reached 3 figures. The winners were Margaret Godwin, Carol Dell and Ann Worden with 97 Points followed by Janet Walton, Teresa Radford and Lesley Casey with 94 Points. Anne Irons, Carolyn Ramsbottom and Sue Moore took third place with 93 Points. The prize table looked beautiful with pots and planters full of lovely flowers and a tea of sandwiches and cakes was enjoyed by everyone as they came off the course. Having come through the third round of the Mail on Sunday Competition we have now been drawn to play Perranporth Ladies in the next round which will take place on Saturday 28th April. 6 Ladies will be representing St Enodoc at the County Championships commencing on Tuesday 17th April at West Cornwall Golf Club.
