Today was the final round of the Powerade PGA Assistants\' Championship at Coventry GC and it is possible that both our Pros will think that they missed an opportunity to improve on their overnight standings.
Katie was first off, and not off to a start she would have wished with 6 dropped shots in the first 6 holes. However with 4 birdies on the back 9 she got her round back on track and she finished 2 over for the day and 3 over for the tournament - and in which she was the only Lady Pro to make the cut. Katie finished tied 40th in a field where 122 started.
Being higher up the leader board Antony had a later start time; he too had a mixed start to the round with 3 birdies in the first 5 holes - but also a bogey and a double bogey to wipe out the shots he picked up. After that he played solid golf and with every hole parred, bar one which was birdied. He finished 1 under for the day and 4 under for the tournament. This put him tied 19th and a cheque for £365 - probably not enough to cover his costs for the tournament.
This was the National PGA event for Assistants and St Enodoc was the only club with two representatives - well done Antony and Katie !
