St. Enodoc Golf Club - Plenty of competitions for the new Ladies Committee

Following the recent AGM Penny Moon and Lynn Ashcroft have now begun their year as Ladies Captain and Vice Captain and Trudie Tensjo and Judy Redman have been welcomed on to the Ladies Committee. Plans are in hand for the annual Chicken Chase in December and in the meantime various competitions have been played.

In a Sunday EWGA Medal Chris Dymond was in the winning spot yet again with a nett 77. In second place was Sue Roworth with Nett 82 followed by Jane Bendall with Nett 83. Another round of the Roworth Salver was played on Sunday and the winner, Anna Clagett, played some fantastic golf to come in with 41 points and reduce her handicap by 2 shots from 16 to 14. Kathy Biddle was second with 33 points on countback from Sue Richards in third.

On Tuesday 22nd November a Stableford Competition was played on both courses in relatively calm conditions. Mary Rayment was the only lady to play strongly on the Church Course with a score of 36 points cutting her handicap from 19 to 18. Mary won Division 1 and Maggie Day coming second with 30 points on countback from Heather Brewer. In Division 2 Julie Smith was the winner with 31 points followed by Edna Alford with 30 and Sue Foster on 28. On the Holywell Course Carolyn Ramsbottom scored a creditable 39 points and cut her handicap from 28 to 26. Mary Killingley and Jean Nicholls both came in with 31 points and came second and third respectively.
