The 2012 Open Mixed Foursomes was finally played on Sunday 10th June having been postponed by bad weather on 29th April. With just some light drizzle in the morning and a bit of breeze conditions were much better but being 6 weeks later the rough had grown up considerably and it was seen to devour many balls during the 36 hole event.
The change of date also had the effect of reducing the field to 32 teams from 17 different clubs who played a round on both the Church and the Holywell courses. Mixed Foursomes is always meant to be the hardest format to score well in and this event as usual proved the case. The twos (on the Church only) produced just 5 lucky winners each of whom took away 16 balls and there were prizes for first second and third on each course for those not in the main combined prizes which were won by the Foxes from China Fleet on the Holywell with 41 points and the Malletts from Perranporth on the Church with 33 points.
The combined scores were extremely close and were dominated by St Enodoc players with the only interloper being Launceston\'s Paul Clemens. The top prize was decided on the better Church course score by 1 point and as a result Richard Hawken and Sue Roworth won for the second year running. The combined prizewinners were:-
1st Richard Hawken & Sue Roworth 70 points
2nd Simon Pain & Jane Bendall 70 points
3rd Paul Clemens & Sue Willmott 69 points
4th Bob & Annie Cruse 68 points
