St Enodoc hosted the Open Mixed Foursomes on Sunday 26 April. 38 clubs were represented with play over 36 holes, one round on the Church and one on the Holywell. Despite the recent downpours, the day was dry, sunny in parts and with a stiff breeze and fast greens on both courses posing a challenge to all teams.
Overall winners, with a combined stapleford score of 69 points, were brother and sister duo Simon Trapnell (from Royal North Devon) and St Enodoc’s own Janine Clagett. In second place, also with 69 points, were Peter and Lee Bristow from Saunton GC, pipped at the post by Simon and Janine who had the better score on the Church course.
The results were;
Best score Holywell: Raymond Spiers and Sally Napier (Newton Downs GC) 39 points
Best score Church: Leslie Ellender and Hana Dabrowski (Holsworthy & Bude GC) 31 points
Best combined: Simon Trapnell (RND) and Janine Clagett (St Enodoc GC) 69 points.
