St. Enodoc Golf Club - October news from the Lady Vets

We have just had our main event for the Autumn, namely our Awayday which was held at St Austell Golf Club recently. Unfortunately the weather forecast was not good, but not perturbed by the horizontal rain, we had an indoor putting competition- ‘with a difference’ – much to the amusement of men having coffee and waiting to go out when the rain had stopped - this involved string and balls of all sorts!! Then we had a poetry competition and quiz – all in good spirit and we were very agreeably surprised by the quality of the poems, I never knew we had such poets in our midst!

Then we had an early lunch and by the time we had finished, the sun came out, and we managed nine holes in glorious sunshine.

Winners of the putting competition were jointly: Janet Walton & Ann Worden and the golf was won by the team of Barbara Willmott, Margaret Godwin and Sue Walker.

Our last friendly match against Royal North Devon, away, is due to take place on Friday 31st October (though masks will not be worn) so fingers crossed for good weather as we are competing for the ‘Pasty Cup’! We won it back from RND last year and are hoping to retain it this year.

The following week, ie Friday 7th November is the Vets Annual AGM which will be at 10.00am prompt. All Vets welcome, do come and join us.
