On Monday 13th May a strong contingent of Lady Vets from St Enodoc travelled to Launceston to play in the South West Vets Spring Meeting. Playing conditions were good for the Individual Stableford Competition and our players gave a very good account of themselves, with a number featuring in the prize giving ceremony at the end of the day.
Winner of The Trim Cup – current County President, Barbara Willmott
Winner of The Milfon Cup (Bronze Division) – Sue F. Jones
Runner Up, Silver Division – Terri Gliddon
5th Place. Silver Division – Heather Brewer
The final of the Vice Presidents Cup took place on Sunday 19th May which turned out to be a wonderfully warm and sunny day. Both players took advantage of the excellent playing conditions and produced high quality golf throughout the match. However, thanks to some deadly accurate putting Celia established a healthy lead through the front nine holes. Always a tenacious competitor, Kath then played some holes to par and managed to reduce the margin significantly. Celia is also an experienced match player and succeeded in holding her nerve under pressure to close out the match on the 17th hole. A final of this quality befits such a prestigious cup and both players are to be congratulated on their performances. Celia now goes forward to represent St Enodoc in the County Vice Presidents Cup Competition.
In the second round of the Ladies Daily Mail Foursomes, Meg Godfrey and Jax Buse were drawn to play The Point. Unfortunately due to illness by one of The Point ladies, St Enodoc were given a walk over. On the 8th May, St Enodoc was the venue for the third round against Newquay. Pat Greenwood and Judith Reseigh received 11 shots from Meg and Jax, but this was not sufficient to prevent an overwhelming win for St Enodoc on the 11th green.
