St. Enodoc Golf Club - Nick Williams Notches Up 40 Years At St Enodoc

Nick Williams Notches Up 40 Years At St Enodoc

Exactly 40 years ago on the 16th March a young golf professional called Nicholas Williams started his career with St Enodoc Golf Club. The Club advertised nationally for a Head Pro to replace Ernie Goodman and were interviewing candidates in London. However a Member, Irvine Marshall of Marshalls Farm down at Porthilly pushed the Committee very hard to consider a very promising Assistant Pro from St Mellion. And so it was that after interview and playing a round with the Committee that young Nick got the prestigious job of Head Pro at St Enodoc. Prior to his position at St Mellion Nick had also been an Assistant at Exeter and Tavistock.

Things were very different then with St Enodoc and Daymer Bay Artisans as two separate entities and characters aplenty frequenting both and most of whom have long gone, but not been forgotten. Nick is very well known and respected throughout Cornwall and further afield as a professional.

Everyone at St Enodoc would like to congratulate and thank Nick on his long assocation with the club.
