The Muir Bowl was played on Saturday 11th April 2015. 86 members entered the Medal competition fighting to be holder of the Muir Bowl for 2015. The stakes were not quite as high as those offered at Augusta but the golf was nearly as magnificent!
Mark Stevenson took first place by a margin of 4 shots – our very own Jordan Spieth! Mark had a great round starting with a birdie on the first and could have scored higher still but for a hiccup at 9. Mark shot a gross 76 to take first with nett 67.
In second, John Pease had a nett score of 71, beating Robbie Moore into third on countback. Both faired better on the way out, then jumped around the leaders board on the way home! John Pease stuffed the 10th, but held strong for the rest of the round. Robbie had his troubles on 13 and 14 but fought back with a birdie on 15.
From fourth through to tenth place all players returned with nett 72. Rob Cook took the 4th spot from Nick Evans in 5th, John Arnold in 6th and Steve Buse in 7th place, Richard Hawken came in 8th with Colin Garnett in 9th and Russell Combellack in 10th.
Josh Greenaway in 11th place, had the lowest gross score of the day returning a nett score of 72 giving him a gross 73. John Rowe finished in 12th place on countback also with a gross 73.
