Michael Fish of the hurricane that wasn't coming fame would have been pleased today because his successor forecasters got it pretty much spot on for the Rock forecast today. Bit of mizzle to start, then just cloud, hint of watery sun and no wind; the Captain tried to claim it was all down to him - the decent January weather that is. Niblick is not so sure, however since David Elliott is coming to end of his period of office maybe he has at last found his touch. Lets hope so, there is plenty of golf between now and Easter.
Enough of the English pre-occupation with the weather. Two Mixed Greensomes competitions today, Church and Holywell. Great scoring on the Holywell where 2nd, 3rd and 4th were decided on count back each with 43 points. Good scoring too on the Church especially from Paddy and Barbara Graham with a winning score of 37 points - well played ! They claim it was their first win in six years; Paddy seemed to think that good enough reason to tell a chicken joke. If you haven't heard it do ask him it's a hoot !
