In typical links golf fashion the wind was very present for this week's medal, nonetheless with eighty nine entries it was a good turn out for this competition. The winner this week, Lee Bateman was obviously taking inspiration from the like's of Shane Lowry who won the Open at Portrush, for although he didn't set a course record Lee played under his handicap of 18 posting a nett 65. On the front nine Lee had five par's, however didn't fair quite so well on the back nine, but overall was four under for the round.
In close contention was Dan Tilley who also has a handicap of 18 and scored the same points with five par's on the front nine, but was just pipped on the back nine by one point giving him a nett 66 and second place. In third and fourth place respectively was Matt Smith with a nett 67 and Dennis Brown with a nett 68. Just to finish off the group of sub nett 70 scores was James Hutchings, Guy Hovil and Richard Norsworthy all on nett 69. The lowest Gross score of the day went to Josh Greenaway with 71 and for his effort is now playing off +1!
