Saturday's Par competition was not the most popular of the Men's comps given the foul weather that greeted the early arrivals. Most decided quite righlty to give it a miss after considering their options. However the day did improve somewhat, to the extent that 18 otherwise bored golfers decided to brave the elements. Winds gusted to 30 mph and there was the odd annoying, squally shower but the option of going home to 'honey-do' lists was compelling enough to motivate the hardy few. Paul Warren turned in a very impressive +2 to win the day over Nige Buse and Tuck Clagett, who both had -1's. John Arnold and Stuart Fleet each finished on -3.
