Whilst information is a little thin on the ground so far as we can establish our \"A\" Team yesterday beat St Austell and were then well beaten by Tehidy Park 3-0 in the Q-final.
Sorry to be so brief but it\'s all the info we have. More, or perhaps even less, tomorrow.
PS: Somewhat exhausted carrier pigeon just arrived from Bude (it\'s a long way) and here is the message that was attached to it\'s leg -
Men\'s A team yesterday.
Match against St Austell AM.
Strong winds and persistent rain throughout the morning round made for very challenging conditions.
First pairing of Steve Buse and Russell (halve) Combellack were well up early on but were pegged back to all square after 18 holes. Extra holes were not required due to the comprehensive wins by the young guns following on behind.
2nd pairing of Jack Irwin and Joe Combellack had a comprehensive win by the score of 5 and 4, with the final pair of Sam Jarvis and Charlie Runnalls also completing a resounding victory by the score of 4 and 3.
The team was now set to face the formidable force of the current A team champions of Tehidy.
Veterans Buse and Combellack decided to take a back seat and went down the order to no.3 pairing, relying on the young guns to hit Tehidy hard at the front. Unfortunately, due to some fine play in difficult conditions by all the Tehidy pairings, St Enodoc were comprehensively beaten in every game.
A brave effort from the boys and we wish Tehidy all the best in the final on Tuesday afternoon.
