Saturday proved to be a very successful day for Charles Rayment who secured one of the trophies on offer in the Men’s competition calendar in what were some of the most testing conditions of the year so far.
The field of 58 entrants who played for the Challenge Cup on Saturday 15th June found the going tough and with the competition being a Medal format and with very strong winds good scores were of a premium. Charles' nett score of 71 was an excellent effort on the day and good enough to win by two shots from Ken Perring who carded a nett 73. Norman Evans finished in third after losing out to Ken on count-back. Rob Cook took the lowest gross prize with a 77.
