Wednesday 1st June saw the old boys entertain Trevose. Sunny periods and a gusty north west stiff breeze awaited them as they rubbed in the horse liniment. Captain for the day Keith Hawke with an injured Steve Smith were soon in trouble, being 2 down after 3 holes and never recovered to be beaten 4 & 3. Fortunately things improved behind especially as Nigel Thomas and Mike Lovett won convincingly 7 & 5, they were apparently 2 over gross after 14 holes, Wow! The overall score was a good win for Trevose by 4½ to 3½ which leaves us adrift for the reverse match at Trevose in July. Our opponents were gracious in their appreciation of the course, catering and sportmanship of our Club and team.
The question was posed by the team Captain and this week's reporter as to who is Niblick. As a good journalist I can not reveal our sources but dear old Nibbers is always on the lookout for juicy gossip which has been sadly lacking of late.
