The annual friendly took place on Friday 7th between those of us lucky enough to live here and those that visit us as often as they can.
40 members took part in a greensomes stableford with all scores counting . Nobody was quite sure what the weather was going to do but in the end everyone stayed dry if more than a little windswept. After the golf everyone enjoyed an excellent meal in the dining room, with summer wine being the principal prize.
Our thanks to Heather for all her hard work and to David Pettman for ensuring this fixture continues to grow in popularity.
It is rumoured that the immortal phrase ‘ Who was it that decided that husbands and wives should play together ?’ was heard on the first fairway.
As to the result, it is also rumoured that one side scored a few more points than the other side.
