The highly popular Lanhydrock Seniors Open took place on Thursday 25th July and with the usual high number of St Enodoc participants. This event has always been a happy hunting ground for St Enodoc Seniors, with a good number of winners over the years, and it is against this high standard that this years results must be measured.
The course, as always at this time of year, was at it's immaculate best. Is Lanhdrock not the best parkland course in Cornwall in summer ? The course was of course baked and there was plenty of run on the ball - even if the run took the ball to some places where the fairway mower does not reach. St Enodoc Seniors can sometimes be confused by the close proximity of trees and of these there are plenty at Lanhydrock.
So to the results. As has been hinted at our successes this year were not as great as in the past, but that should not prevent due and proper congratulations to Paul Safhill in overall 3rd place and to Ken Metcalf in 6th place. In the Super Seniors category Keith Willmott was 2nd. Various other of our Members also hoovered up numerous golf balls in the "2's" competition.
