The Ladies Captain\'s Charity Coffee Morning, in aid of Penhaligon\'s Friends, took on a new look this year. We decided to offer up our Holywell course, from 9.00 am - 12.00 noon, at a much reduced rate to lady golfers from all over Cornwall, playing in teams of three. Notices were sent to all clubs in November last year and entries came flooding in, 18 teams signed up. Included in their green fee was a cup of coffee and home-made cake provided by the Ladies Committee. There was a raffle, for which prizes had been donated by our members and a marvellous cake stall groaning under the weight of beautiful cakes which had been made by lady members, the Lady Vets sold the cakes and raised an astonishing £180 for the charity. Our bar staff expertly juggled the demands of the coffee morning whilst keeping the Winter Special groups content, a brilliant job done!
Penhaligon\'s Friends sent their representative, Julie, pictured above with Lynn and Jax, who spent her time talking to the ladies about the work the charity do in helping bereaved children in Cornwall. Despite the wet weather most of the ladies took to the course, some completed the 18 holes and some chose to return to the comfort of the club house to enjoy lunch with their friends. Many St Enodoc ladies came to support the morning and bought coffee, cakes and raffle tickets and enjoyed a leisurely cup of coffee with friends, many thanks go to them for their support on a cold and wet dismal March morning. We raised £1,202.81 for Penhaligon\'s Friends, our very worthwhile charity.
