On Tuesday 19th June Penny Moon held her Ladies Captain's Day in conditions that were reasonable but could have been brighter. The format for the day was 4 Ball Better Ball on both the Church and Holywell Courses. To help players on their way Pimms and Mars Bars were distributed at the half way points and this obviusly had a positive effect on Meg Godfrey and Rhiannon Rich who won the first prize on the Church Course with 43 points. (Hopefully Meg had the Pimms and Rhiannon had the Mars Bar!!). In second place were Jax Buse and Lynn Ashcroft with 38 points.
On the Holywell Course, where both winners were of an age to accept the Pimms, Jayne Brenton and Marion Andrews came in first with 37 points on countback from Judy Redman and Annabell Woolcott. Prizes of beautiful orchids and M & S vouchers were awarded to the successful pairings.
On Thursday another League Match was played at home against Porthpean with St Enodoc Ladies coming out on top winning 4-3.
22 Ladies entered the annual competition to play for the Grandmothers Coaster which took place on the Holywell Course recently. The winner was Anne Humphreys with 39 points followed by Sue Moore with 37 points on countback.
We have now been given the draw for the 7th Round of the Mail on Sunday and have been fortunate to be drawn at home again, this time against the Dorset Golf and Country Club. The match will be played at 9.24am on Monday 16th July, the day after we are due to play Truro at Perranporth in the third round of the Gammon Trophy.
